Biography: Doaa Ali is a Medicinal Chemist from Sudan. She Joined University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University as a PhD fellow in Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery. Her research aims to develop a new synthesis methodology for accessing organotrisulfide derived from Garlic and to evaluate these products as cytotoxic agents against cancer cells. She obtained her MSc. degree at the University of Khartoum and graduated in 2012 in general Chemistry. She received her BSc. degree in Chemistry from University of Khartoum. She has 5 years of experience as lecturer at Future University as well as Khartoum University as teacher assistant. In 2020, Ali won the L’Ore’al-UNESCO Sub-Saharan Africa Young Talents Programme for African Women in Science for research excellence. She has been a PhD fellow candidate from Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World.
