Muhammad Miftahussurur

Muhammad Miftahussurur is currently the Head of Helicobacter pylori and Microbiota Study Group in Institute Tropical Disease, Universitas Airlangga. Apart from being the Head of the Study Group, he is now holding the chair of Vice Rector for Internationalization, Digitalization and Information of Universitas Airlangga, after chairing the Centre for Journal Development and Scientific Publications, Universitas Airlangga for three consecutive years. He earned his specialist education in internal medicine from Universitas Airlangga back in 2011 and gained his Post-doctoral in Gastroenterology from Baylor College Medicine, Texas, United States, in 2017. His most recent research projects include co-authorship of a journal article entitled “Helicobacter pylori Infection in Indonesia: What Distinguishes It from Countries with High Gastric Cancer Incidence?”, which was published in “Characterization of a novel Helicobacter pylori East Asian-type CagA ELISA for detecting patients infected with various cagA genotypes” this year and he is currently chairing COVID-19-related research called “Learn from Indonesia the World’s Highest Covid-19 Death Rate: Genealogy, Viral Mutation, Healthcare Resources, Prevalence and Distribution Across the Country, Demographic and Risk Factor, Sociobehavioral and Government Policy”.
